DEMS ARE NOT TURNING PRO-LIFE

Kathryn Lopez comments on recent developments in the Democratic party:

WASHINGTON D.C. —Sixty-five percent. That's Pennsylvania Sen. Robert Casey Jr.'s rating with NARAL Pro-Choice America, the standard measure for a politician's abortion-rights-advocacy purity. Sixty-five percent -- voting with NARAL two out of three times -- does not a pro-life Democrat make. And yet, when the Dems announced that Casey would be speaking at their convention in Denver, it was widely accepted that he could be described as a pro-life presence there.

But one indicator of Casey's false colors -- besides his voting record -- that shows his comfortable alignment with the same old pro-abortion puppet masters dominating the Democratic Party could be discerned in the absence of outcry from groups like NARAL (formerly known as the National Abortion Rights Action League).

This lack of protest is telling. In 1992, the party refused Casey's father, former Pennsylvania Gov. Robert Casey Sr., the right to speak at that year's convention, owing, it was alleged, to his staunch pro-life position. Allowing his son to speak is meant to be a signal that times have changed, that although the Democratic leadership has not altered its stance toward abortion, it has shifted toward compromise. Too bad it's all bunk. Democrats, you see, are open to other views on the issue as long as they're only talking about cosmetic, not meaningful, changes.

Sen. Casey, you see, besides just not being an authentic pro-life leader, is also no Rick Santorum, the senator he beat two Novembers ago. Santorum went out of his way to speak about the right to life, shaping bills to protect unborn babies (and even cosponsoring legislation with his pro-choice Pennsylvania colleague, Arlen Specter, to support alternatives to embryo-destroying stem-cell research). Casey may occasionally vote alongside those who oppose abortion, but he is no leader and poses no threat to the abortion industry.

But he is just pro-life enough to serve the purposes of the Democratic Party, a desperate crew when it comes to the abortion issue this year. Their presumptive nominee stands as the most virulent pro-choice candidate ever to run for president of the United States. He wants abortion legal, he's told us during the course of the campaign, because if one of his daughter's made a "mistake," he wouldn't want them to be "punished" with a baby. (Life is never a punishment, and there are other options besides abortion. Why should an innocent be killed because of a mistake?)

HOW CAN I GET VATICAN HEALTHCARE ?

I've long thought the Catholic Church in America could offer a valuable service to American Catholics by providing healthcare. If it was anything like that offered at the Vatican, and if it were conditioned on Mass attendance, I think I could guarantee it would fill the pews. Check out the details of healthcare in Vatican City at Catholic News Service.

CHANNELING - at the U.N. (Continued)

Spirit begets spirit? In looking at Kryon, that would seem to be the case. In the Kryon website Lee Carroll writes concerning the 1996 channeling at the U.N.:

This second UN Kryon visit was different. In the past year, the Kryon work had grown considerably....Jan and I went alone last year, but this time we had some of our "Kryon family" of workers with us, also. We were allowed six guests, so we included Geoff Hoppe and Linda Benjo (editors of the Kryon Quarterly and the PR arm of Kryon ), Rob Harris (who does all the Kryon national ad design), Dr. Todd Ovokaitys (M.D. science researcher and metaphysical visionary), and Steve and Barbara Rother (Our Kryon America On-Line helpers, and internet meditators).

Taking a look at the Kryon reunion 2008 reveals that some of the 1996 staff is still around, and the pictures reveal a following. The Kryon mall shot indicates how commercial this whole thing has become.

Among those staff members who were part of the 1996 U.N. channeling appearing at the 2008 Reunion were Geoff Hoppe and Steve Rother.

Geoff Hoppe has his own website, Crimson Circle. Hoppe channels Tobias. Listed at the website are a number of channelers who have taken part in News for the Soul broadcasts. J. Z. Knight is among them. So is Satyen Raja whose topic "Sex Passion and Enlightenment" is billed: "Tune in to hear about the sacred blending between the Divine Man and the Divine Woman." Alchemy? Sex Magick? Hieros Gamos? All of those? Notice the logo on the Crimson Circle link--a circle with wings. The symbol is Rosicrucian, though several other groups also use it.

Another of those who accompanied Kryon to the U.N. in 1996 is Steve Rother. He, too has taken up the business opportunity. He channels "The Group", and has taught channeling at the United Nations. Rother writes:

The VIC Esoteric Society is a group that meets weekly at the Vienna International Community that houses the UN and many of the UN organizations. Its members are primarily employees of the United Nations and many of its subsidiary organizations including UNIDO, (the United Nations Industrial Organization), The Atomic Energy Agency, (which oversees all atomic activity globally) and several others. The VIC society hires presenters to speak at special meetings and this was the second year I had been asked to present information from the Group. When the president of the society asked me what I would be speaking about, I told her I would present an introductory talk and live channel and then I would present a segment from our seminars on how to channel that would include a channeling exercise.

CHANNELING - At the U.N.

Aquarian Age Community/Djwhal Khul

The Lucis Trust influence at the United Nations is a well documented reality. Lucis operates on the astrobabble of channeler Alice Bailey and her spirit guide Djwhal Khul. I've discovered another organization that also promotes Bailey's babble, the Aquarian Age Community.

This organization lauds the activities of the U.N. as explained in their newsletter "Diamond Light". Here we are told that the "powerful influence of the Angel of the Presence is steadily rising." The article also tells us:

In November 2003, the Secretary-General created a High-Level Panel that has made suggestions about how to successfully address the security threats facing humanity in the 21st century....On January 29, 2004 at a UN briefing, two members of this Panel provided some insights into their process....And, as the Tibetan Master prophesied, at the briefing, the recognition was articulated that "anyone's threat is everyone's threat and demands a collective response".

Another article in the organization's website, titled "Initiation, Glamour, Aquarian Age Community and the United Nations", we can discover:

We have been blessed. Sane and practical information has been given to us regarding the nature and processes of Initiation in the many books by the Tibetan Master, Djwhal Khul, and Alice Bailey....

Each major advancement along the way is accompanied by a ceremony of Initiation, overseen by the applicants' Master and conducted by either the Christ in the first two initiations or the Lord of the World in later initiations....

Lord of the World? I know of only one entity with that name!

Lee Carroll/Kryon

Lee Carroll/Kryon have made five appearances at gatherings of the Society for Enlightenment and Transformation (SEAT), a part of the United Nations Staff Recreation Council.

The Council coordinates activities of numerous recreational activities of the U.N. staff and guests. Among those activities are a ski club, concerts, UFO programs, and these channeling events. It even houses the Jacqueline Ripstein painting of Our Lady of the Universe. So while Lee Carroll claims to have spoken at the United Nations, and has in fact channeled inside the U.N. building, it has not exactly been done to the full compliment of the Security Council.

Nevertheless, ideas do have consequences. If staff members at the UN are tuning into channeling, it is worth taking note.

Kryon has appeared at SEAT meetings in 1995, 1998, 2005, 2006, and 2007. The channelings are online for the world to read. I found the 2006 channeling particularly interesting. Here I found a reference to the Aztecs and the Mayans in conjunction with the year 2012. Here we are told that Armageddon was apparently canceled because it should have already taken place. But what was most captivating from this channeling was the following:

For those conspiratorial ones, let me give you something that you didn't expect. We have spoken of this before, but this is the time to speak of it more clearly. The Illuminati. Are you afraid of them? Do they exist? The answer is, of course, that they do. Conspiratorial ones will say that the Illuminati has been responsible for controlling stock markets, elections, commerce... perhaps even the U.N., for decades. Indeed, there is some truth to all of this because in an old energy, especially one of darkness and fear, this was not difficult by those who controlled shipping and oil.

In a new energy, where light is being turned on and everyone can talk to everyone, it is very difficult. So let me tell you what the Illuminati are doing these days. They are about to change everything and become the earth's "benevolent uncle." Oh, they're still interested in getting money and power, of course, for this is what they do. But they are beginning to realize that the old ways are becoming harder and harder to control. They were based in Greece, but they have moved to Africa.

In a not too secret move, they are moving billions of dollars from Europe to fund the curing of a continent. It is the Illuminati who will supply the funding for curing Africa of AIDS. The funds are there. Oh, Humans! Did you know that? You won't have to worry about that... one of the biggest puzzles of the past decades is on the verge of being funded and solved - the curing of an entire continent.

And why would they do such a thing? Because if they could become part of large, emerging governments, they will be on the ground floor of everything that happens from then on. Part of every tax collected will be theirs....Tens of millions of Human Beings will be cured over the next decades. It's unexpected, is it not? Like it or not, it is in the works, and the result will be the saving of millions of lives.

Gaia turns up in this claim:

If you will look at the real Mayan and Aztec calendars, you will see what they really had to say. What they foretell are patterns of energy potential that are all part of the time clock of Gaia. They're not calendars at all, as you think of them, but rather energy markers.

2008 is said to be a "pivotal year", and Kryon brings his "message from the angelic realm."

Kryon's phrasing often reminded me of messages from Medjugorje, particularly with his reference to "dear ones" that is part of the 2007 offering and others. Some of the phrasing from the 1996 channeling also brought Medj. to mind:

Oh, dear one, you are so dearly loved! That "Piece of God" within you has the power to change all of the things around you - even the attributes you fear the most! There is nothing too difficult for the miracle of spiritual physics to change! And your guides stand poised as the room increases in the love energy - right now.

Kryon also speaks of "peripherals" in the 1996 channeling. These are essentially the bad spirits who oppose the good spirits on the side of Kryon, claiming the peripherals give misinformation. We are also told to "MAKE PEACE WITH THE DRAGON". Huh? No elaboration is given. Presumably the audience at the U.N. know who the dragon is.

CARDINAL GEORGE DISCOVERS HONESTY

From a New Oxford Review link:

The sexual abuse of children happened on his watch.

And so for the first time, Cardinal Francis George on Tuesday opened the books on a litany of failures by church officials as he announced a $12.7 million lawsuit settlement by the Chicago Roman Catholic Archdiocese.

By releasing the details and unveiling his own sworn deposition, the archbishop revealed a flawed and secretive system where priests and bishops employed by the archdiocese to this day protected their own.

Some victims' advocates say the cardinal's wholesale disclosure also signaled a new era of cooperation that will prevent wrongdoing in the future and hasten the healing process for victims.

I want to believe that we are finally going to begin to get disclosure and honest answers from our bishops. I WANT to. But there is still that nagging inner voice that asks if this is just another legal tactic?

POSING AS A BISHOP

GARLAND – A man claiming to be a priest came forward Monday evening to speak in support of a man whom the Catholic Diocese of Dallas has accused of posing as a bishop.

The diocese has warned worshippers to beware of Martín Dávila Gandara, who they say is posing as a Catholic bishop and charging up to $200 to perform holy services that priests do for free.

On Monday evening, a man who travels with Mr. Gandara said they were doing nothing wrong.

DALLAS EPISCOPALIANS CONSIDERING CONVERTING

DALLAS Fort Worth, Aug 13, 2008 / 07:00 pm (CNA).- A senior Episcopal prelate recently confirmed that a delegation of Episcopal priests from Fort Worth visited the Catholic bishop of the diocese, Most Rev. Kevin Vann, to discuss how their diocese might enter full communion with the Catholic Church. While the seriousness of the discussion is not yet known, a document presented by the priests claims an overwhelming majority of clergy in the Episcopal diocese favor pursuing plans to bring the diocese into the Catholic Church.

A spokesman for Bishop Vann, bishop of Fort Worth confirmed that the meeting took place, the Dallas Morning News reports.

YAHWEH NO LONGER TO BE SUNG AT MASS

Catholic News Service reports:

In the not-too-distant future, songs such as "You Are Near," "I Will Bless Yahweh" and "Rise, O Yahweh" will no longer be part of the Catholic worship experience in the United States.

At the very least, the songs will be edited to remove the word "Yahweh" -- a name of God that the Vatican has ruled must not "be used or pronounced" in songs and prayers during Catholic Masses.

Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli of Paterson, N.J., chairman of the U.S. bishops' Committee on Divine Worship, announced the new Vatican "directives on the use of 'the name of God' in the sacred liturgy" in an Aug. 8 letter to his fellow bishops.

He said the directives would not "force any changes to official liturgical texts" or to the bishops' current missal translation project but would likely have "some impact on the use of particular pieces of liturgical music in our country as well as in the composition of variable texts such as the general intercessions for the celebration of the Mass and the other sacraments."...

"Apart from a motive of a purely philological order, there is also that of remaining faithful to the church's tradition, from the beginning, that the sacred Tetragrammaton was never pronounced in the Christian context nor translated into any of the languages into which the Bible was translated."

The two Vatican officials noted that "Liturgiam Authenticam," the congregation's 2001 document on liturgical translations, stated that "the name of almighty God expressed by the Hebrew Tetragrammaton and rendered in Latin by the word 'Dominus,' is to be rendered into any given vernacular by a word equivalent in meaning."

"Notwithstanding such a clear norm, in recent years the practice has crept in of pronouncing the God of Israel's proper name," the letter said. "The practice of vocalizing it is met with both in the reading of biblical texts taken from the Lectionary as well as in prayers and hymns, and it occurs in diverse written and spoken forms," including Yahweh, Jahweh and Yehovah.

Now, how about addressing the use of the word Allah within Roman Catholicism?

CHANNELERS - Lloydine Arguelles/Bolon Ik

There is so much more of Jose Arguelles' activities that should be covered to understand the man and his channeled spirit Pakan/Valum Voltan, that I feel as though I've only touched the surface. Much of it is contained in his Galactic Research Institute which seems to be his major thrust at the present time. Interestingly, Sri Aurobindo and Teilhard de Chardin's noosphere both turn up in this website.

Before moving on there is one more detail of Arguelles' life that I want to touch on...his wife, Lloydine Arguelles.

One of the dangers of messing with the occult is the tendency of the spirits accessed to make fools of the people who channel them. This is glaringly true in the occult world. Devotees gather around one particular seer...cults then split over the arrogance of the personalities involved who all want to be in charge. Occultism doesn't exactly generate humility, and two seers channeling different truths are a prescription for disaster. The occult world is littered with the human fallout, some of which ends up in lawsuits in court.

The Lord and Lady of peace and harmony are an interesting example of that. It seems that Jose and Lloydine Arguelles have divorced.

In an interview with Carol Hiltner at the Spirit of Maat website--an interview titled "Mayan Time and the Sacred Feminine with Lloydine Arguelles"--Lloydine reveals:

I finally realized I had fallen prey to the Way of Being a Teacher. And sometimes when you do that you can solidify so that you forget to grow, yourself. Right now I am in a released place of being divorced, finding the delight of self-discovery, and trying to practice what I was preaching out there.

Obviously there is something a bit out of kilter with the system of peace and harmony the Arguelles promote. As Lloydine tells us in the interview:

One of our needs as humans is to understand that...duality creates polarity, which divides. And we're really looking for higher unity, embracing both marriage and divorce. Any heavy dogma we carry is not going to work. The "perfect couple" is really a form of idolatry.

If you're not living your own truth, it's going to catch up with you.

A reference in the interview to the Tortuga.com website led me to a pdf file that explains who Valum Voltan and Bolon Ik are. It primarily gives the history of theArguelles' channeling practices. There we learn that "two turtles of the Telektonon, Pacal Voltan and Bolon Ik, are reunited in love in the Navigation Tower." Too bad they didn't spread some of that love around the house.

In the "prophecy" Arguelles admits that "Pacal Votan had been a type of guide, or spirit-guide" to him, and he recounts his early channeling experiences. He describes what beliefs he holds from the Buddhist and Tibetan religions. He admits that he was raised a Christian, but now believes that of the "three messengers of the awakening: Buddha, Christ, and Muhammad...the most important of the three were the first and the last, Buddha and Muhammad." He talks about a religion which will follow Christianity. He briefly mentions the "Calendar of Thoth in Egypt", and the use of crystals with a pyramid inside, the Rainbow Bridge, and the initiations of the "Seventh Ray" or ceremonial magic.

We learn from the paper that "Pacal Votan had come calling, and behind him was the beckoning of his heavenly lover, Bolon Ik", and that

...in the Tibetan tradition that a Terton (discoverer of a prophecy), the one who finds the text, always needs to have a female companion or in some rare cases where it is a female finder, a male companion. The reason for this is that it is very often a woman or a female who will trigger the discovery of the Terma. In the case of the Telektonon we had two instances of female. It was specifically Tynetta Muhammad who came to me with the text (of the prophecy Arguelles claims to have discovered); and I had with me my constant companion, Bolon Ik. It wass largely through Bolon Ik's inspiration that the different levels of teaching were to be discovered by me.

I presume this was written prior to the divorce given that Lloydine signs herself "Lloydine Bolon Ik" in her weblog. In this blog she speaks of her "salaried 'job'" and of living as a single woman for five years, and tells us "the pressure to earn one's daily bread is real."

Now that Valum Votan and his Bolon Ik are traveling in different directions, I wonder what will become of Arguelles' ability to channel? Most likely it won't be Arguelles who disappears because the spirit has left him, but rather it will be this paper that will disappear and a whole new teaching about the role of the feminine will take its place.

CHANNELERS - Jose Arguelles/Valum Voltan - Continued

On February 3, 2003 Robert Lucente at philzone.com interviewed Arguelles. The long version of this interview is online at Fieldwerks. It prints out at 32 pages. (Notice that the Eye of Horus/Thelema appears at the top of the website.)

What appears to be the same interview can also be read at philzone.com, but while this one begins with identical material, it prints out at 18 pages and contains different material after the first couple of pages.

My comments below are taken from the longer version at Fieldwerks. Here it is indicated that Arguelles founded the Foundation for the Law of Time which promotes the "Great Calendar Change of 2004", which, of course, did not take place. The interview begins with a claim "I Channel in order to Nuture...I am a galactic activation portal enter me."

Arguelles states that the Foundation's purpose "is to promote the 13 Moon Calendar." He claims that

Most people have no idea how much we are programmed by a calendar...a calendar is what programs a society that uses it. It is the most fundamental program that a society has. If you take the calendar away from society, the society ceases to exist really."

While I wouldn't go so far as to agree that it is the "most fundamental program", it is an important program that makes it possible for the society to run smoothly and keep order.

Yet what he is proposing to do is to take away the Gregorian Calendar used worldwide. What kind of confusion would be caused by removing this calendar and substituting another, particularly if only part of the society adopted the new one? To me this qualifies as a technique to cause chaos, and causes me to wonder if he is one of the many chaos magicians contemplating disrupting the social order.

Much is made of the fact that the mainstream New York Times published an article on the proposal to change to a Myan calendar, seeing this as confirmation that mainstream media is willing to consider the proposition.

An antagonism toward the Vatican is expressed:

This calendar was, of course, inherited by the Christians in the 6th century or even before that, which then became the Eastern Church, the Orthodox Church and later on the Catholic Church. Then in 1582, Pope Gregory the 13th had a reform of the Julian calendar and then it became known after Pope Gregory, as the Gregorian calendar. In a sense, this calendar is the Vatican’s calendar. The world lives on Vatican time....

...in 1929, a guy named Benito Mussolini, a Fascist dictator of Italy decided that the Vatican, who’s power had shrunk enormously from the time of Pope Gregory the 13th in 1582 when the Vatican virtually owned the planet (in terms of its colonization’s and finance and so on) that it had shrunk. It had lost all its power. Benito Mussolini said the Vatican needs to have political status, political power again, needs to have its own banking system and in 1929 the Vatican became virtually a nation state of 4 acres and was able to wield a lot of power. So when the news of the calendar reform came, and as I said the Gregorian calendar is really the Vatican calendar...

the Vatican then marshaled all of its influence, which was still very great, and at that time still had influence with many scientists and said, ‘Look 13-months/28-days, 13 times 28 is 364. There is 365 days in a solar orbit. The 365th day is no day of the week or month at all.’ This is what we call a DAY-OUT-OF-TIME, which correlates to July 25.

This ‘day-out-of-time’ or ‘null day’, as they called it back then, was objected to strenuously by the Vatican. The Vatican raised big arguments saying that, ‘If we had a null day, a day that was no day of the week or month at all, that that would break the succession of the 7-day week that was set in motion when God created the Universe.’ Of course, where did the 7-day week come from? It came from the Babylonians based on the mystic number 7 and then they gobbled that all up with planetary associations. In any case, the Vatican, and its scientific apologists said, ‘If we break the succession of the 7-day week, that the world will fall into social chaos, catastrophe, terrorism and war.’ Well, where are we today because we didn’t make that reform? OK, we are exactly at that point.

Christian theology presumes that time is linear. Pagan theology assumes time is circular. Linear time is essential to believe that Christ came once to save all of humanity. He will not come again until the end of time, and there will in fact be such an end. Circular theology posits that cycles repeat themselves, and there may be more than one opportunity for humanity to straighten up and fly right.

Arguelles says:

We think time is something you measure on a clock and you can reduce down to nanoseconds. We think that time is absolutely linear, this doctrine of inexorability, that we are going continuously from the past into a future, and material progress is inexorable. This concept of time is very linear. Well, to the Maya, time was not mechanical and time was not linear. Time was the frequency of synchronization. Time is what counts for synchronicity. The more synchronicity there is, the more in time and in tune with time that you are. A concept of time that is linear and mechanistic makes synchronicity an oddball thing....

Well, that’s an interesting thing. They had a concept of past and future, but they had also much more the idea of cycles, or cyclical order, or what I’ve come to call, synchronic order.

If time is circular, Christ would have to come again in each cycle.

Arguelles would like to stop modern civilization so that a new civilization could come into being. He claims:

So how do you throw a monkey wrench into the works? Well, how you throw the monkey wrench into the works is you take out the fundamental macro program, which is the calendar. That’s the monkey wrench in the works. I saw that back in 1989 and 1990, and I worked out a lot more mathematics of the Mayan calendar, but I knew this 13-month/28-day calendar was really the ticket to replace this Gregorian calendar. I didn’t know in an uphill struggle it was going to be. I started telling people about this and they all looked at me like I was crazy, but I got a very strong sense of urgency. Then in 1993 I decoded a Mayan prophecy, which said basically that: the human species was operating in error and unless it reverted to natural time and abandoned the artificial time, it would destroy itself by, our favorite date, 2012. Which is not very far away.

Those adopting the new calendar could claim their human rights to use it:

...you have your rights according to that calendar. So if we say that we now recognize that there is a new community on Earth that is placing its concept of it’s sovereignty in the 13 Moon Calendar and no longer recognizes the legitimacy of the Gregorian calendar, according to the Charter of Human Rights, we are saying that our rights have to be respected following this calendar. It’s kind of like passive resistance. We’re not in the Gregorian world anymore.

In fact Arguelles admits that he is talking about spiritual revolution with this calendar change:

It’s a cultural phenomenon and a cultural revolution. We will establish a new community and this community will establish its own legitimacy....

We are also calling for a Universal Religion Council where we’ll have leading representatives of all the world religions, as well as indigenous leaders to kind of referee it, that will just come together on this one point and agree that to change the calendar will give the human race the opportunity to stop in its’ tracks, to stop shooting for a little bit, to reorganize its’ priorities, and to make a better world.

Spiritual unity is the very foundation of this. If we can get representatives of all the major religions to agree on this, then they’re agreeing on a point that’s beyond all of their dogmatic and doctrinal differences for the spiritual betterment of humanity. So we want to emphasize that this is a peaceful cultural revolution, this revolution of time, and it’s a profoundly spiritual revolution.

Arguelles indicates that he admires James Twyman's peace efforts. I've blogged Twyman in the past and will not go into detail about him here.

Arguelles speaks of crossing paths with Terrence McKenna in the middle 80s and sharing concern about 2012.

He speaks of the Noosphere--ala Teilhard de Chardin perhaps?

He speaks of the five "earth families".

He talks about doing away with leap year, substituting instead 13 Jubilee Days every 52 years.

There is more in the interview, but I'll let you go read it for yourself if you're interested.

Arguelles' Galactic Research Institute of the Foundation for the Law of Time can be seen here. The Catholic Church via the popes are targeted here as well. This website appears to have been constructed prior to the turn of the century.

There does not seem to be much recent information about Arguelles' plans since the failure of the 2004 prediction, but I doubt he has curled up and gone away.

SAGA AT ST. STANS DRAGS ON

Fr. Merek Bozek has gotten himself a bishop's ring, purchased in Poland when he was there last year. Does he plan to use it? That question is unpacked at St. Louis Catholic.

What a mess! How quickly they devolve into chaos when the pope is abandoned!

Meanwhile Bishop Hermann, Archbishop Burke's replacement, has repeated Burke's warning that the St. Stan's Board candidates risk excommuication.

CHANNELERS - Jose Arguelles/Valum Votan - Continued

I've continued to explore the various involvements of Arguelles. Perhaps for anyone following the development of the New Age Movement, the most significant was The World Summit on Peace and Time, an Arguelles event which took place at the UN affiliated University for Peace in Costa Rica in 1999. The purpose of the event was "concluding the matter of Calendar Reform" according to Philologos.org. The website tells us:

The Summit was called on behalf of the people of the Earth to ratify the Declaration of Calendar Reform, and, organized as Seven Commissions, to prepare the 8 articles of Resolution to accompany the Declaration. Over 100 people attended the Summit, including some 50 invited Commissioners and at least an equal number of planetary kin, followers of the World 13 Moon Calendar Change Peace Movement.

Letters of acknowledgement were sent on behalf of Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the UN; Federigo Mayer Zaragoza, Secretary General of UNESCO; HH the Dalai Lama; and by Jonathan Granoff of the Lawyers Alliance for World Security. Though they were not able to attend, both Dr. Alfredo Sfeir-Younis, World Bank Special Environmental Representative to the UN, and Lama Gangchen of the UN Spiritual Forum contributed relevant documents and statements of support. The Summit opened with a prayer ceremony by Rev. Yusen Yamato, followed by the opening address of Dr. Rodrigo Carazo, former president of Costa Rica and founder of the University for Peace. In attendance with Dr. Carazo was Gerardo Budowski, acting Rector and representative of the newly appointed President of the University for Peace, Maurice Strong.

Following her welcoming remarks, Mrs. Lloydine Argüelles introduced her husband, Dr. José Argüelles, who formally convened the Summit with a prepared statement, "Calendar Reform and the Future of Civilization," outlining the Summit's purposes and objectives. Finally, Dr. Ashok Gangadean, of the Global Dialogue Institute, the Summit's On-site Coordinator, laid out the ground rules for the Seven Commissions.

Ashok Gangadean of the Global Dialogue Institute was a surprise to this Catholic given his association with Leonard Swidler, a proponent of Catholic dissidence in various forms.

More excerpts from the website:

* On the morning of the 3rd day, Roberto Poz, Day Keeper and priest of the Quiche Maya, from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, offered a ceremony to all the participants, who now also included long-time Chancellor of the University for Peace, and former assistant Secretary-General of the UN, Robert Muller. Before returning to their work on the Commissions, the participants were given a personally guided tour by Robert Muller of the archeology and history of the site of the University of Peace, concluded by a walk to his near-by residence.

* The final and 6th day of the Summit was the largely ceremonial conclusion and the only part of the event that did not occur at the University for Peace. Beginning with a performance by the Aztec Dancers in the patio outside, the remainder of the ceremonies occurred inside the historic Fanal Theater in downtown San José, the capital of Costa Rica. Dr. Elisabet Sahtouris, who facilitated the Commission on the Biosphere, gave the opening address, which elaborated on biological metaphors for the current planetary rite of passage, marked by the World Summit on Peace and Time.

Following Dr. Sahtouris' Address, Mrs. Lloydine Argüelles formally read the Declaration of Calendar Reform which was ratified by common consent of all the participants. Dr. José Argüelles called forth the self-selected Leaders of the 2 Peace Emissary Teams, Mr. Martin Zoller of Bolivia, for the mission to the UN, and Mr. Vandir Natal Casagrande of Brazil, to head the mission to the Vatican. These 2 were joined by a 3rd special Emissary to Libya, Mr. Reinhart Ruge Co-President of the World Parliament Association.

The "People's Declaration of Calendar Reform & Moral Referendum World Summit on Peace & Time" is reproduced at the website.

Among the claims made in the declaration is that "in 1962, the Vatican II Council issued a "Declaration of Calendar Reform". I've attempted to find this online without success. What I suspect is that the "calendar reform" being discussed at Vatican II was a reform of the liturgical calendar, not a reform of the common calendar the world uses to keep order.

An Arguelles webpage is also dedicated to the Summit.

Here I discovered among the list of seven commissions that the Commission on Education wants to "Mandate the promulgation of a new "HomeSchool educational model." What model would that be, one wonders, and is it intended to be mandatory?

Notice that the webpage is "signed" by Valum Voltan and Bolon Ik, not by the persons who channel these entities, Jose Arguelles and Lloydine Arguelles.

In yet another webpage on the World Summit we are told:

The point of the Proclamation of the Calendar of Peace is to arouse the consciousness of a critical mass - 20 % of the human population - to the possibility of a fundamental change: the calendar.

Imagine the confusion if such a calendar were given official status. Some nations would probably adopt it. Others would not. Order would be sacrificed as people tried to coordinate activities while having to accommodate more than one system of ordering time.

Chaos magick? It has me thinking about it...

There is much talk about "evolution" of time. Under the heading "Dynamic" there would seem to be an affirmation of monism in numbers 2 and 3. No. 13 talks about "egoic confusion mentally separating time from space" which the calendar change proposes to address. No. 16 talks about terminating "the Earth Culture of history" and establishing "the new culture of harmony." This presumably would be brought about, according to No. 19 "By means of the Earth-Consciousness Shaft" by which "the new culture is established as the telepathic community for the harmonic construction of the future." Chaos magick?

I'm not at all sure what the last two sentences in the website mean, but take a look at them anyway:

As fourth-dimensional psychogenetic pattern of third-dimensional entity, holon receives messages and instructions from two purely fourth-dimensional entities, commonly known as - guides - or - angels - totally inperceptible and unknown to the third-dimensional ego.

Sixth Year of Prophecy, Victory Purifies.

I'll break off at this point and pick it up here tomorrow.

VATICAN SPLENDORS

The exhibit is at the Western Reserve Historical Society through the rest of this month. I got to see it yesterday afternoon. If you are planning to see it, allow two hours or more. There is a lot of reading to do if you want to understand each piece. You will find 2-D artwork, papal ceremonial garments, liturgical implements, a couple of papal tiaras. There were many people going through it when I was. Everyone was invariably polite, and the museum was quieter than a Catholic church on Sunday morning.

There were some surprises mid-exhibit. One display showed Chinese art--a phoenix rising with bamboo and a pine tree. Nothing tied this into Catholicism at all. There was other Chinese artwork, again non-religious. There was a stone carving from Mexico of some sort of feathered creature with no Christian significance. Coming around a corner and finding these things in the midst of this very Catholic exhibit was disquieting. I truly have no idea what it was doing there, and no explanation was offered. No other country was represented, just these few pieces from China and one piece from Mexico. Odd.

Another surprise was the papal chasuble--white silk embroidered all over with bees. Sign said the symbolism was of the gospel which is sweater than honey. Odd.

There were two papal tiaras on display, one said to include the world's largest emerald.

John Paul II's cassock was there. He was shorter than I had thought. There were Swiss Guard uniforms--3 of them contemporary. One included armor. All were equally as strange to look at as the typical blue and gold striped uniform seen most often.

There is a walk-through room constructed to look like Michaelangelo's scaffolding used for painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Standing there was like stepping momentarily back in time.

Seeing the exhibition was sort of expensive. Tickets are $20. Parking was $8. The prerecorded guided tour with cassette and headphones was $5. I would like to have brought home the exhibition booklet, but that was $24.99. I started out using the headphones but found that they repeated what was written beside each of the exhibits. There is also a pre-recorded message broad casted to the room for several of the exhibits. It competed with the message going into my ear. After a while I just abandoned the headset and stuck to reading.

All things considered, though, I'm glad I got to see it.

Internet Blasphemy

As if we needed more evidence of the growing rejection of God in our modern world, in July, a college professor in Minnesota, Paul Myers, publicly vowed to desecrate the Eucharist to make a point about his sick atheistic beliefs. Apparently now he has done the blasphemous deed with the help of someone who sent him a Host stolen from a Mass in London. This person posted a video of the theft on the internet proving that the arrogant sin of one has spawned the sacrilege of another. Unfortunately, in the internet age, it is likely that this kind of crime against Our Lord will generate even more profanity. Never in the history of the world has there been such a deep-seated and wide-spread campaign of blasphemy against Jesus, and there is only one word for it - satanic.

Prof. Myers claims to be a militant atheist; I only hope, for the sake of his own soul, that he is invincibly ignorant of the terrifying consequences of his "faith." In this society, the First Amendment allows him to practice any religion, including atheism, which is a belief system that generally appeals to narrow-minded people like liberal college professors, newspaper editors and Hollywood elites. Yet, even so, he is not entitled to maliciously desecrate the beliefs and Sacraments of others! His act of sacrilege should be taken as a heinous offense against any and all of us who believe in God.

Myers claims to have deliberately desecrated the Most Holy Eucharist last month. These were the words that the professor from hell posted on his blog explaining this satanic act: "I thought of a simple, quick thing to do: I pierced it with a rusty nail (I hope Jesus's tetanus shots are up to date). And then I simply threw it in the trash, followed by the classic, decorative items of trash cans everywhere, old coffee grounds and a banana peel. My apologies to those who hoped for more, but the worst I can do is show my unconcerned contempt."

That was apparently a fulfillment of his public promise to desecrate the Host where he invited others to join him in this conspiracy against our Lord: "Can anyone out there score me some consecrated communion wafers? There's no way I can personally get them - my local churches have stakes prepared for me, I'm sure - but if any of you would be willing to do what it takes to get me some, or even one, and mail it to me, I'll show you sacrilege, gladly, and with much fanfare. I won't be tempted to hold it hostage..., but will instead treat it with profound disrespect and heinous cracker abuse, all photographed and presented here on the web. I shall do so joyfully and with laughter in my heart." Nothing could please the devil more.

Sadly, the person who allegedly stole the Host from the London Oratory placed a video of his connivance on the internet which pictured the Sacred Species next to a condom, blaming the Vatican for the AIDS pandemic in Africa. (I did mention that these people were "narrow-minded," didn't I?)

Our response to these escalating crimes: to renew our Baptismal promises. We forcefully "reject Satan and all his works and all his empty promises," and we reject these particular acts of sacrilege against our Blessed Lord. And as for Prof. Myers and his co-conspirators in blasphemy - let them be forewarned that the malice they show now will be the malice they receive from their unclean spirits who will have an eternity to take it out on them. We, as men and women of faith, will simply pray for their wretched souls to be saved from this evil that grips them.

The Oratorians of London have issued a general call for people of faith this week to make reparation for "all the outrages against the Blessed Sacrament around the world." Given the new glut of internet blasphemy these days, we have our work cut out for us.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,
