NO WONDER WE AREN'T TAKEN SERIOUSLY
How can Catholics defend what the Church teaches when the Catholic leadership is sending this sort of message.
Catholic World News reports that San Francisco's Archbishop George Niederauer will honor real-estate investment mogul George Marcus with the "Loaves and Fishes" award for "outstanding philanthropic works" that "epitomize the spirit of the faith traditions of charity and generosity".
Among Marcus' activities are opposition to the proposition that would have required notification of parents of underage girls who want to have an abortion, financial backing of leftist causes, promotion of taxpayer funding for embryonic stem cell research, and financial contributions for Planned Parenthood.
Add this to Neiderauer's giving of Holy Communion to the male nuns that outraged Catholics across America last fall.
Does this man have any shame?
