From the Journal Register:

PETERSBURG — Stephen Brady was upgraded to serious condition Wednesday at St. John’s Hospital, where he is recovering from injuries suffered when his motorcycle collided with a deer Tuesday night.

Brady, 55, of rural Petersburg, is a longtime Catholic-issues activist and founder of Roman Catholic Faithful, an organization that promotes conservative theological views and attempts to expose corrupt priests.
The accident happened just before 7 p.m. on Illinois 97 north of Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site. Brady was driving a 2004 Harley-Davidson XL northbound when a deer ran onto the road. Brady was unable to avoid hitting the animal.

Brady’s son, Daniel, 20, died last summer after a head-on collision on the same road just a few miles to the south.
