BISHOP PULLS OUT OF GAY MEETING
According to Catholic World News Italian Bishop Franco Agostinelli pulled out of a meeting scheduled with a homosexual activist group Arcigay after the press got wind of it and made it public. He explained:
"My gesture was to have been a sign of welcome"...but "not one of recognition for Arcigay." When the meeting plans were aired publicly, he said, he could not go through with the meeting without implying support for the group.
"How do you 'welcome' a group you don't recognize?" she asks with furrowed brow.
He should have checked with the spin doctors for the proper language before making a statement, I guess.
