WHAT IS THE CHRISTMAS TREE DOING IN A HARRY POTTER MOVIE ?
I've been watching the HP movies this week. One of them portrays the mid-winter school break by including a Christmas tree in the dining hall scene. Why?
There is no mention of Christmas. There is no evidence of a Christmas celebration.
But even more importantly, in these movies there is no mention of God or Jesus Christ because the cosmology presented in the story line won't permit it. The students are in charge of the power. God is unnecessary under such an arrangement. All the students need is the proper knowledge and they can handle any situation. What hint of an afterlife there may be is contained in the disembodied spirits who continue to walk the halls of the school. There is no place for heaven at Hogwarts.
So why the Christmas tree?
