CLOSE THE CHURCHES - HELP BUILD THE MOSQUE
Attempting to get priorities in order among German Catholics, the Archdiocese of Cologne has distanced itself from the rector of St. Theodore Parish, Father Frank Muerer, who organized a collection in his parish for the mosque being built next door. Fr. Muerer believes "Catholics could 'learn much' from imams in Germany's Turkish Islamic Union" according to the article.
One of the things German Catholics could learn is how to build parishes. The article reports that while 700 Catholic churches are expected to be closed nationwide in the next ten years, more than 100 mosques are under construction.
