has an article up at The Free Press websitein which he describes what he claims is the new Russian religious persecution, namely persecution of the members of the Church of the Mother of God. This church is neither Russian Orthodox nor Roman Catholic, but seems to be a blend of both formed out of the visionary experiences of its leader.

Without knowing the legality in Russia of various cults and sects, having an opinion here would be difficult. Is the Russian Orthodox Church persecuting this small sect? Is the sect illegal? Is it growing?

In any case, this article is poised to play on the sympathies of Americans who take religious freedom for granted. It sort of introduces this small sect to U.S. readership.
