IN THIS HOUSE OF BREDE
Last night's video borrowed from the church library.
It's good drama and an interesting character study. It's theater quality and an excellent story. The acting is first rate. The fact that's it's Catholic and set in a Benedictine Monastery is another bonus.
It's such a pleasure to watch a story of real-life people who don't swear, don't sleep around, don't kill anyone, have good values, and believe they are making a contribution to life in spite of the fact they aren't being paid.
The nuns in this movie represent the perception of nuns in the eyes of the average Catholic prior to Vatican II. Something we have lost to our detriment.
Two thumbs up, even if today it mostly looks like a fairy tale.
