MITSUKO UCHIDA
pictured here. She is quite simply fabulous.
She played Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat major, K.449 and No. 23 in A major, K.488 last Saturday night at Severence without sheet music, with her back to the audience, while alternating her playing with conducting the string ensemble. The entire hall was on its feet when she finished for a well-deserved standing ovation. If you see this lady on the program, get your tickets early.
