WHY I'M LEARNING TO DISTRUST THE HIERARCHY MORE AND MORE
I've heard the arguments before...we have to obey our hierarchy, they know what's best, they speak for God, etc., etc., etc.
Don't bother. Reality is reality.
I saw this story earlier in the morning and decided to pass by. Now a reader sent it in. Ok, I guess I can't ignore it.
Does the right hand have even a clue what the left hand is doing over there in Rome? Are homosexual acts sinful or are they not sinful? Does the Church promote them or does the Church condemn them? "Complex problem"?
&^%$# It's getting old...waffling is pathetic, and I am disgusted. Get your act together guys or become irrelevant!
The story concerns the Rainbow Sash brigade that received communion in Minneapolis-St. Paul. From Catholic World News:
Archbishop Flynn said he discussed the issue in a private meeting in early December with Cardinal Francis Arinze, head of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments.
He said Cardinal Arinze agreed that it was a complex problem requiring clear teaching and pastoral sensitivity. The archbishop said he was not asked to change his policy.
