DR. BRUCE MACLENNAN

In researching Sufism I came upon the paper of Dr. Bruce MacLennan titled "Dante and the Fedeli d'Amore."

Before delving into the paper, a little on the writer. MacLennan, Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee, teaches in the Computer Science Department. Among his subjects is an Honors Seminar,"Goethe, Faust, and Science," scheduled for Spring 2005. Among the references he provides for his students is the Biblioteca Arcana.
There is enough material in the Biblioteca Arcana to turn a typical Catholic student into an atheist in one semester. Not only is a lot of history of occultism included, so are the rituals...rituals that I will not read when doing research because I believe they are dangerous to faith. Among them, the "Olympic Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram," the "Exercise for Unity (Tantra LITE)," and "The Labyrinth Ritual." There are also "Selected Charms from the Carmina Gadelica." There is a hymn "To Gaia, Mother of All," a "Liturgy of Love," and a "gnostic myth about Sophia." There is a "Searchable Indices of Spells." Who would expect their son or daughter to encounter such information in a computer class?
